Bren is based at Dustmere Rest, where he helps keep the struggling survivor camp supplied.

Profile

A former caravan scout and experienced scavenger, Bren is wary, sharp-tongued, and always looking for the practical angle. Past betrayal left him cynical, but he remains loyal to Dustmere Rest when survival is on the line.

Gameplay function

• Bren is present and interactable at Dustmere Rest.
• His dialogue and a dedicated trade trigger open trading with his npc_bren trade profile.
• He handles the scrap delivery objective in Scrap for survival.
• He has dialogue responding to progress in The Buried Station, Scrap for survival, and The Lost Caravan, but he does not start those quests.
• He is combat capable and is not marked as enslaveable in his NPC data.

Trading

From the player’s perspective:

• Bren sells: Water, Toxwater, Scrap Metal, Circuit Boards, and Breach Charges.
• Bren buys: Scrap Metal and Toxwater.
• Items bought from Bren cost 120% of their base value.
• Items sold to Bren pay 70% of their base value.

Relationships

• Remains loyal to Rheva while challenging decisions he considers too idealistic.
• Resents Karro’s moral judgments but trusts him during a crisis.
• Occasionally crosses paths with Rust Rat on scavenging routes.
